As a Branch Manager at Embers, you are the driving force behind the daily success of your branch. You oversee the full scope of branch operations, ensure compliance and security, guide your team’s development, and uphold a culture rooted in service, performance, and community engagement. Through strategic leadership and hands-on involvement, you lead your team to deliver exceptional member experiences, achieve business growth, and promote Embers’ purpose of fueling the well-being of our members.

RESPONSIBILITIES WE’LL TRUST YOU WITH:

Lead and Oversee Branch Operations -Supervise the daily workflow and performance of the branch to ensure smooth, secure, and compliant operations. Implement and monitor internal policies, procedures, and cash control practices, identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency. Maintain high standards of operational excellence that align with Embers' service-driven culture.

Deliver an Exceptional Member Experience -Cultivate a warm, welcoming environment for all members. Ensure that your team consistently provides knowledgeable, solution-based guidance on financial services. Take ownership of the overall member experience by actively supporting day-to-day transactions, account openings, and service needs when necessary. Personally resolve complex or escalated concerns while modeling a high standard of service and professionalism.

Drive Business Growth and Member Engagement -Set goals for branch performance and collaborate with your team to meet lending, service, and growth targets. Identify opportunities to deepen member relationships through meaningful conversations and appropriate product and service recommendations. Support outreach and marketing initiatives that increase member participation and brand visibility.

Lead and Develop a High Performing Team -Hire, train, and coach a dedicated branch team. Conduct regular performance conversations and development check-ins, encouraging open communication, collaboration, and continuous learning. Create an environment of accountability, recognition, and shared purpose. Oversee scheduling, payroll, and compliance with all workforce policies.

Maintain Branch Environment & Administration -Manage branch expenses, inventory, and building maintenance needs. Coordinate internal communication and ensure policy updates are understood and implemented by staff.

Act as a Consumer Lender -Originate, process, and approve consumer loans within your authority level and in alignment with Embers’ lending standards. Guide members through borrowing decisions with clarity, empathy, and financial insight. Support loan growth by coaching your team on effective lending conversations.

Ensure Compliance and Risk Management -Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies to protect both members and Embers. Oversee branch security, risk mitigation, and operational compliance. Promote a culture of accountability and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and safeguard the credit union’s assets.

Represent Embers in the Community -Serve as a local ambassador for Embers by engaging in community events, building partnerships, and promoting financial wellness. Encourage staff involvement and seek out opportunities to strengthen Embers’ reputation as a trusted financial partner.

Other Duties as Assigned -Take on responsibilities that support the evolving needs of your team and our organization. Step into front-line or support roles when needed to ensure a seamless member experience.

AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred.

Experience & Knowledge:

Three years leadership/management and lending experience in a credit union or banking environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Strong lending background and leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and supervising direct reports.

Familiar with Embers membership needs, products, and services.

Successful track record of setting, then meeting or exceeding individual and team objectives and goals.

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage members and staff effectively.

Strong leadership and motivational skills with the ability to foster a positive, results-driven environment.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage branch operations efficiently.

Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, email, and other relevant tools.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.

Professionalism, demonstrating a professional appearance and attitude, setting an example for others.

Flexible and adaptable, willing to work branch hours, including some evening and weekends.

Commitment to continuous learning and growth.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Talking: Frequent communication required, especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Average Visual Abilities: Ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

Pay: $54,516.48 - $81,774.73 per year
