What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Lending Assistant position at Embers Credit Union?
POSITION PURPOSE
We’re searching for a detail-oriented high energy individual to assist Mortgage Loan Officers in communicating mortgage file statuses to members and third parties such as realtors. This individual will also assist in obtaining and ensuring taxes and insurance are paid on mortgage loans. This position requires an individual that is able to multitask and communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Experience in Encompass software a plus!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Assumes responsibility for effectively and efficiently performing mortgage loan support activities.
· Answers member questions regarding mortgage loans, payments, balances, and insurance requirements.
· Provides loan payoffs to third parties.
· Follows up with members on any additional documentation that may be needed to advance a loan from approval to closing.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional business relationships with members.
· Resolves (or refers) requests and problems promptly and courteously.
· Keeps members properly informed of the status of their mortgage loan.
· Maintains and conveys the Credit Union's professional reputation.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with area personnel and with management.
· Assists and supports area and all Credit Union personnel as needed.
· Ensures that files are progressing through processing and underwriting in a timely manner.
· Assists in ensuring that taxes and insurance are paid in a timely manner.
· Attends meetings as required.
· Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
· Performs miscellaneous clerical and secretarial functions as needed.
· Ensures that the work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
· Mortgage loan support functions are completed accurately and timely.
· Insurance premiums and tax assessments are correctly recorded and disbursed.
· Files are correct and up to date.
· Good business relations exist with members and third parties. Problems and questions are courteously and promptly resolved or referred.
· Ability to work independently.
· The Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,781.18 - $65,671.78 per year
