Assistant Teacher/Spanish Interpreter

We need an experienced teacher who can speak Spanish fluently to provide interpreter services to our teachers and students. This person should be willing to float between different age groups and can be flexible to jump in where needed throughout our center. Job Responsibilities:

We are currently interviewing for both full-time and part-time positions as we continue to grow. Work alongside other career-minded early childhood professionals educating our youngest learners. We believe the first five years of childhood are the most important in development and learning thus children have the right to be recognized as constructors of their own experiences. Our preschool and pre-kindergarten curriculum are designed to help children reach their fullest potential while enjoying themselves in a warm, friendly atmosphere. We are looking for strong Christian teachers who can instill strong Christian values in our students and guide them to walk in God's love and light. This role's responsibilities include:

• Support Lead Teachers to develop lesson planning and implementation of curriculum
• Help maintain classroom organization, paperwork, attendance tracking, and other miscellaneous administrative tasks
• Regularly communicate with families to discuss individual child needs and growth, supporting Lead Teacher strategies and support plans as needed
• Ensure classroom meets all licensing requirements for safety and cleanliness
• Foster an environment of positivity, openness, and kindness each day; treating children, their families and other staff with dignity and respect

Requirements/Qualifications:

• High school diploma required and OFFICIAL transcripts.
• Experience working with young children.
• Candidates must speak Spanish and English fluently in addition to having knowledge, understanding and practical experience working with the youngest children. Fluency in other languages is a huge plus!
• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Updated physical required prior to employment
• Certificate showing completion of Mandated Reporter Training.
• Child Development Associate Certification preferred.
• First Aid, CPR and Heimlich Maneuver certified.
• Personal qualifications: Licensing Standards for Day Care Centers, emotional maturity, willingness to cooperate with the aims of the program, respect for children and adults, flexibility, patience, good personal hygiene, and physical and mental health which does not interfere with responsibilities.
• Experience with the Head Start program is beneficial as well.
