Position Overview:
This position involves daily production duties in large-format printing, flatbed printing, production layout for printing, and materials management. The role is responsible for producing all banners, vinyls, stickers, yard signs, foam core board printing, flatbed printing, large poster printing, and vehicle wraps for Daytona, WWHQ, and Prescott.
Additionally, this position serves as a backup billing person, teaching CSR and other employees about billing procedures using Print Shop Pro software and monthly billing processes. It requires maintaining a good working relationship with Accounts Payable (AP).
The role is also responsible for identifying software and production strategies to improve production efficiency and solve printing issues by finding effective solutions.
This position also acts as the manager’s backup during vacations or leaves.
Primary Job Functions, Duties, or Accountabilities:
- Uses Vision Pro software along with Adobe Suite programs to make Daytona and Prescott name badges, desk plates, and old style signage for both campuses. Operates our Roland LEF 300 UV printer. Operates our Boss 3671PF laser to cut acrylic and to laser retch on acrylics and metals. Operates our Epson 9600 printer for printing all A-frame posters and photography quality printing.
- Uses Versa Works software along with Adobe suite softwares to set up arrays to cut acrylic materials with The Boss laser cutter Has to program all of the sheet cuts and set up the oxygen levels for cutting metals and set laser temperatures for cutting plastics and using the laser to engrave and etch on plastics and metals. Makes all acrylic signage and way finding signage for Daytona , WW and Prescott campuses. Sets up Roland printer to print arrays of the sign layouts and hand builds each sign to specifications.
- Uses Versa Works, Light Burn, Onyx, Top jet and Adobe softwares to set up print work on our 4' x 8' Fluid Color flatbed printer. Prints multiple substrates on this printer and is in color of controlling color balance and density for good print quality. Maintains this machines print heads and ink systems. Uses our Steel Track cutting systems to cut sub-straights from foam core, plastics and metals.
- Light Vinyl installation for vehicles, college walls, golf carts, doors, windows, ground graphics, cut lettering, stadium signs, scoreboard graphics, and all large cut vinyl projects. Uses the Roland VG3 640 printer to produce all types of vinyls and paper printing for large format installs, stickers produced for the college, and all graphics for windows, ground graphics and cut vinyls. Laminates all vinyls using the Royal Sovereign laminating machine.
Qualifications
Required Education: Formal diploma/certificate/degree program of 6-18 months after high school. Area of Concentration: Graphic arts
Minimum of 5 years of graphic design and layout, vinyl output and installation.
Required licenses, certificates, and/or security clearances:
- 3M installation
- Color theory and color balance.
- Vinyl installation experience.
Required skills, knowledge, abilities:
Knowledge of Adobe Suite softwares, Versa Works software, Light burn software, Onyx software, Top Jet software, Vision Pro software. Knowledge of vinyls and laminates. Installation skills of vinyl a plus. Operational skills for Roland LEF 300, Roland VG-460, Fluid Color, RSC 165 laser cutter, Canon 8400 printer.
