JOB SUMMARY
Facilitates Agile events for assigned team(s). Supports the development of meaningful metrics to drive continuous improvement and to support forecasting, planning and delivery; inspects and adapts at a regular cadence. Acts as servant leader enabling the team to be self-organized, cross-functional, and effective in an Agile delivery environment. Facilitates team collaboration, decision making, and conflict resolution. Serves the organization by increasing awareness and adoption of Agile principles and values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Delivery
Facilitates team events for assigned team(s), including daily stand-up, planning, retrospective, review, backlog refinement, etc. Facilitates collaboration sessions such as dependency management, story mapping, cross-team coordination, and conflict resolution
Builds and analyzes metrics and information radiators; provides insights into delivery, forecasting, and historical data
Supports the Product Owner by providing techniques for effective backlog management and product roadmap maintenance and utilization
Guides the team to successfully build and deliver high value products incrementally and at a sustainable pace
Proactively identifies and resolves impediments, risks, and dependencies that interrupt the flow of value
Demonstrates knowledge of the team’s product and / or service offerings to provide more effective facilitation, backlog management, and dependency management
Thought Leadership
Acts as servant leader to enable team(s) to be self-organized, cross-functional, and effective in Product driven organization
Serves the team(s) by increasing the awareness and maturity of Agile and Lean principles, values and practices. Provides education to multiple teams via training and workshops; provides small group and individual mentoring opportunities as assigned
Works with other Agile Delivery team members to increase the effectiveness of Agile and Lean practices across the organization
Continuous Improvement
Leads the team(s) to identify and minimize waste, while maximizing value; recommends optimal utilization of team
Analyzes team performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance productivity
Fosters a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging experimentation and learning from failure
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The education and experience below are required for the job unless labelled as preferred :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
Four years of experience in IT product or project delivery, including three years as a Scrum Master or similar Agile Practitioner experience, or related experience
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong understanding of Agile values, principles, and practices; ability to blend practices based on team’s unique needs
Strong working knowledge of engineering and DevOps principles and practices related to software development life cycle
Strong knowledge of collaboration tools, such as Jira, Lucidchart, and Confluence
Ability to impact team dynamics and resolve conflict; skilled at removing impediments and motivating team members
Strong facilitation and communication skills
Strong interpersonal and servant leadership skills and qualities
