Assists bond underwriters with various assignments. Performs underwriting tasks for mono-line fidelity, package fidelity, commercial surety, and small contract accounts. Processes and enters new business, renewals, and endorsements. Images and indexes all files and documents. Issues and processes status inquiries.

Assists bond underwriters with various assignments. Performs underwriting tasks for mono-line fidelity, package fidelity, commercial surety, and small contract accounts. Processes and enters new business, renewals, and endorsements. Images and indexes all files and documents. Issues and processes status inquiries.
Essential Functions
- Obtains information necessary to approve and process renewals for fidelity and commercial surety
- Assesses risk and makes the final decision on approving and issuance of new and renewal bond policies within limited authority
- Enters, rates, and codes all new bond business and renewals
- Enters all cancellations and endorsements
- Issues and processes all status inquiries on contract bonds
- Assists underwriters by entering financial statements and work-in-progress information into the bond underwriting system
- Orders and pulls all personal credit reports and Experian reports for all contract and non-contract bond accounts and updates appropriate systems
- Associates degree, or equivalent relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Fidelity and surety bond experience preferred
- Knowledge of surety and fidelity underwriting terminology, coverage forms, related documents and procedures preferred
- Strong computer skills needed with a working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good math and bookkeeping skills
- Must be able to work on multiple tasks at one time with frequent interruptions
- Must be detail-oriented as well as possess strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritizing skills
