Serves as the Corporate Office Loss Control (COLC) subject matter expert in technical design and strategy of business intelligence and reporting. Translates COLC requirements into advanced technical requirements. Partners with IT, Data Governance & reporting teams to design, develop and maintain ongoing COLC metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Partners with Corporate Office Loss Control leaders and experts to capture analytical requirements and data goals across all COLC. Leads the business intelligence and data recommendation process to translate objectives and goals into practical solutions and delivers results to COLC leaders and stakeholders. Provides technical leadership and assistance and cross training on BI reports. Creates documentation templates and overall documentation plans for the COLC BI function.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as the Corporate Office Loss Control (COLC) subject matter expert in technical design and strategy of business intelligence and reporting.
- Translates COLC requirements into advanced technical requirements to implement reports and dashboards created from multiple data sources. Researches and compiles the data sources required for each report.
- Gathers, analyzes, and complies relevant COLC data from multiple sources such as historical data, industry reports, field reports, and/or purchased sources, to input into analysis.
- Collaborates with IT, vendor partners, and Strategic Analytics to ensure all available data is appropriately incorporated into data storage for effective utilization.
- Builds reports, dashboards, and visualizations using BI tools and other analytics resources.
- Partners with IT, Data Governance & reporting teams to design, develop and maintain ongoing COLC metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
- Promotes the usage of BI techniques for data ingestion and transformation and serves as a resource to end users and stakeholders.
- Deploys complex developed reports and dashboards for testing through production.
- Partners with Corporate Office Loss Control leaders and experts to capture analytical requirements and data goals across all COLC.
- Leads the business intelligence and data recommendation process to translate objectives and goals into practical solutions and delivers results to COLC leaders and stakeholders.
- Determines objectives, important metrics and KPIs, and method of performance measurement based on COLC operational goals.
- Develops reports utilizing technology best practices, ensuring data quality and accuracy is achieved.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics or related field or equivalent relevant experience
- Seven years of experience with BI products such as Web Focus, Tableau, IBM, or Cognos, Experience with
- Microsoft BI Stack tools such as Excel, Power BI or SSRS
- Experience in analytics and reporting lifecycle
- Prior loss control experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of data visualization, dashboard creation, business reporting, data modeling, DAX, measure creation, and understanding of database structures and ETL
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SQL, with working knowledge of Python or R
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema
- Ability to gather and analyze a variety of data points to make recommendations to stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present data insights effectively
- Ability to distill and communicate highly complex issues for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to identify business trends, detect anomalies, recommend improvements, and gather and analyze a variety of data points to make recommendations to stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail, planning, and organizational abilities with continuous learning mindset
The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either the $83,000-$115,000 range or the $92,000-$127,000 range. A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
