Job Overview
This opportunity is for an Installation & Service Technician that supports public safety first-responders, commercial, industrial, and local government customers throughout Florida by facilitating the installation and service of two-way radios and mission critical radio systems.
Location: Sebring, Florida
Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Compensation: $24-26/hr., paid biweekly
Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required as after-hours work is sometimes necessary to meet project deadlines and client needs, offering an opportunity for additional earnings.
Travel Requirement: This role involves frequent travel to job sites around Florida, typically 3-4 days per week. Travel is primarily day trips with occasional overnight stays for projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Setup: Installation and servicing of public safety products and systems into various vehicle types. IE: Two-Way Radios, Sirens, Light Bars, Cages, Cameras, Flash Lights, Gun Racks, etc. to be installed into Police, Fire, EMS, and various local government vehicles
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform regular maintenance checks, troubleshoot issues, and repair systems as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service by responding to service requests promptly and addressing any concerns related to system functionality.
- Technical Training: Educate customers on system operation and maintenance, ensuring they are confident in using their new equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, services performed, and any issues encountered, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, sales teams, and other technicians to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures during installations and repairs to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications, but training will be provided to develop the preferred qualifications. Pay rates will be based on candidate qualifications and skill set.
- Drug Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Background Check: Must pass a pre-employment background check with no criminal convictions.
- Age & Work Eligibility: Must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Driver’s License: Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Initiative: Must be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
- Professional Appearance: Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Customer Focused: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Problem Solver: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to customer sites across Florida as needed.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work on ladders, and in various weather conditions.
- Tools: Must own basic hand tools and be familiar with the use of power tools.
- Cable Installation: Must be proficient with running low voltage cables in buildings, including proper routing, securing, and termination.
- Computer Proficiency: Must be familiar with navigating and using software programs on a computer, including installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting.
- Networking & Electronics: Must have a basic understanding of computer networking principles and electronics technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in installing and servicing security, surveillance, and access control systems, particularly with Avigilon and Vigilant Solutions products.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications, such as CompTIA A , CompTIA Network , BICSI Installer, or similar credentials in low voltage cabling, networking, or security systems.
- Advanced Networking Skills: Familiarity with advanced networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnetting, VLAN configuration, and network troubleshooting.
- Google Suite: Expertise with the Google application suite, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and other related tools.

Tools, Equipment, and Vehicle Provision
At EMCI Wireless, we equip our technicians with the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively. The company will provide all required power tools and specialty equipment necessary for the installation, maintenance, and service tasks. These tools are maintained by the company, ensuring that you always have reliable and well-functioning equipment at your disposal. It is the employee’s responsibility to supply and maintain their own basic hand tools.
In addition, a company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel. This vehicle is available for your use during the workday and must be picked up and returned to the office daily. The company vehicle will be equipped with the tools and equipment you need to perform your job efficiently, allowing you to focus on delivering excellent service to our clients.
