Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, dynamic, and technologically savvy Programming Technician - IT, to join our team. This individual will program, configure, and train customers on advanced technology systems, ensuring seamless integration and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong software proficiency and a passion for learning and applying new technologies.

Location: Sebring, Florida

Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Compensation: $22-24/hr., paid biweekly

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Configuration: Program and configure advanced devices such as two-way radios, license plate recognition systems, and fixed video cameras.
  • Software Mastery: Utilize and train customers on platforms such as CommandCentral Aware and Orchestrate, ensuring they are proficient in managing integrated solutions.
  • Customer Engagement: Prepare and deliver presentations to customers to explain technical solutions, project progress, and service options.
  • Customer Training: Conduct hands-on and remote virtual training sessions, simplifying complex solutions and concepts for end-users.
  • Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve software and system-related issues, providing excellent customer service.
  • Collaboration: Work with project managers, technicians, and sales teams to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate service records and training documentation for internal and client use.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with emerging technologies to provide innovative solutions and support to our clients.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that all projects meet or exceed customer expectations, delivering exceptional service and fostering long-term client relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications, but training will be provided to develop the preferred qualifications.

  • Drug Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Background Check: Must pass a pre-employment background check with no criminal convictions.
  • Age & Work Eligibility: Must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Driver’s License: Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Initiative: Must be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Professional Appearance: Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Customer Focused: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Problem Solver: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to customer sites across Florida as needed.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer service, with a strong ability to manage client relationships and resolve issues effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Computer Proficiency: Must be familiar with navigating and using software programs on a computer, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced Software Proficiency: Ability to recognize and utilize software icons, navigation tools, and functions at-a-glance to ensure smooth training and user understanding.
  • Networking & Electronics: Must have a general understanding of computer networking principles and electronics technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: Background in configuring or working with advanced technology solutions.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of two-way land mobile radio systems, including installation and configuration processes.
  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications, such as CompTIA A , Network , or similar credentials.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, engineering, technology, or a related field.
  • Software Development Exposure: Familiarity with software development concepts, UI/UX design principles, or experience working with software that involves advanced user interface navigation.
  • Adept Networking Skills: Familiarity with advanced networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnetting, VLAN configuration, and network troubleshooting.
  • Google Suite: Expertise with the Google application suite, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and other related tools.

Tools, Equipment, and Vehicle Provision

At EMCI Wireless, we equip our technicians with the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively. The company will provide the required power tools and specialty equipment necessary for the installation, maintenance, and service tasks. These tools are maintained by the company, ensuring that you always have reliable and well-functioning equipment at your disposal. It is the employee’s responsibility to supply and maintain their own basic hand tools.

In addition, a company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel. This vehicle is available for your use during the workday and must be picked up and returned to the office daily. The company vehicle will be equipped with the tools and equipment you need to perform your job efficiently, allowing you to focus on delivering excellent service to our clients.
