Weld & Fab Shop Manager

Emco Wheaton Retail, located in Wilson, NC, is a leading designer and manufacturer of service station products. Emco is a growing organization that is looking for talented individuals to lead the organization into the future.

We are currently seeking an experienced Weld & Fab Shop Manager. If you have the ability to lead, mentor and motivate people, schedule, plan, manage projects, communicate and adapt to changes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Managing jobs and adapting to changing timelines, communicating job expectations and performance requirements to the team.
• Serve as a liaison with engineers, and other departments to maximize efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction of finished product.
• Ensure that all fabrication and welding completed meets specs and is up to quality standards.
• Take the lead in expanding the Weld & Fab Shop while maintaining productivity requirements.
• Use your experience to teach the team by getting hands on to provide examples of the quality of work that is expected.
• Work in close collaboration with the planner to ensure efficient scheduling of daily work and special projects.
• Ensure timely resolution of production build issues with engineering and interface with all applicable departments to address concerns, work on special projects and improve efficiency.
• Enforce all safety policies and ensure overall Safety of Employees and the Shop.
• Manage the team to ensure a clean and tidy shop.
  
  

Experience

• Three to five years managing others.
• Five years prior welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft office applications and MRP systems.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
