Job Summary
Havel is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to oversee the construction of building system-related control panels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage project resources and cost to ensure projects are performed to scope and within budget.
- Oversee engineering design and construction of electrical control panels per UL508A.
- Program, test, and commission systems onsite to support the provided controls and instrumentation to client satisfaction.
- Review the progress of PLC and HMI programming development to ensure schedules are met.
- Track project labor, staffing requirements, and costs.
- Submit accurate, timely and complete estimates and change order quotations.
- Attend project team meetings, provide progress updates, and manage open issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in electrical, electronic, automation technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5 years of experience with Industrial Controls and Instrumentation, including the ability to read and understand control system schematic drawings as well as project-related mechanical and electrical blueprints
- Proficient with AutoCAD drafting, PLC programming (Allen Bradley), HMI/ touch screen programming, and computer-based SCADA graphic user interface software (Factorytalk, Wonderware, iFIX, etc. are desirable)
- Exposure to field devices such as process instrumentation not limited to temperature, flow, level, and pressure transmitters, electric or pneumatic valves, servo drives, linear actuators, hand tools and handheld test meters to troubleshoot relay logic, instrumentation, and PLC’s to identify and correct problems.
- Working knowledge and hands on experience of motor control and VFD’s
- Maintaining relationships with vendors, customers, and contractors
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate with minimal supervision
- Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
