Commercial HVAC Service Technician Apprentice

Bahnson Mechanical Systems is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician Apprentice who will perform maintenance and repair operations pertaining to complex heating and cooling systems and associated control systems. In addition to HVAC, this person will apprentice under experienced Bahnson leadership in industrial dust collection equipment maintenance and filtration technologies. The technician will also execute their position responsibilities in accordance with company policies, practices, processes, and applicable laws.

Key Duties:

• Work with and without direct supervision.
• Deal diplomatically and effectively with customers.
• Work within standards of accuracy, make decisions based on measurable criteria, and comprehend technical data.
• Be physically capable of working easily and skillfully with hands, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 100 pounds, seeing well (either naturally or with correction), climbing and maintaining balance on ladders and scaffolds, and standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Have knowledge of current BOCA Code and OSHA safety regulation.
• Has the ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.
• Has the ability to maintain a sense of urgency but remain calm when handling emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years of HVAC system servicing, installing, troubleshooting, and repair.
• EPA Universal certification is required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Working knowledge of the HVAC service industry.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
• Ability and understanding of the refrigeration cycle
• Excellent organization, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Scheduling and time management skills.
• Strategic, analytical, and multi-tasking skills.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
• Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
• Work in a team environment with high safety and quality standards
