Sheetmetal Mechanic/Sheetmetal Welder

The Sheet Metal Mechanic / Sheet Metal Welder position is a critical role for the company. This individual will follow all safety rules and regulations and work as a part of a team daily. The Sheet Metal Mechanic will work under the guidance of a Field Superintendent or Project Manager depending on location of the work assignment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.

• Qualified GMAW (MIG) welder per AWS D9.1 on Stainless, Carbon, and Galvanized Steel
• Qualified GTAW (TIG) welder per AWS D9.1 on Stainless, Carbon, and Galvanized Steel
• Layout sheet metal components (Duct, Hangers, etc)
• Measure and mark dimensions for field installation
• Drill holes for screws, bolts or rivets
• Install sheet metal with supportive framework
• Field fabricate or alter parts to meet site requirements
• Sketch duct fittings
• Maneuver and anchor large sheet metal ducts and parts
• Fasten joints of duct together for a complete heating cooling and ventilation system
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be responsible to enforcing safety rules
• Ability to guide other employees if needed

 REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of experience and education.

• HVAC Sheet metal and installation experience.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
• OSHA 10 Certifications desired
• Ability to read and understand blueprints

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge of the construction industry and documentation.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
• Familiarity Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Ability to operate forklift and/or scissor lift

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
