Job Title:  SIC Shipping Administrator/FT (GE WILM)

Job Summary: Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Shipping Administrator for an on-going site in the Wilmington, NC area - the site has access to customer cafeteria and food services and is in a controlled environment. This role is for an on-going assignment. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide variety of general shipping, receiving, and material control duties.
• Complete paperwork or documentation to receive materials and verify materials to ensure the accuracy of the delivery.
• Perform trip transactions (tripping).
• Perform various computer activities including proficient in Microsoft Office, printers, and encoding for shop floor routing.
• Schedule part deliveries to the shop floor.
• Schedule pick up and deliveries outside of normal operation.
• Print the shop floor routing sheet.
• Maintain the prerelease log.
• Provide various record keeping and data entry duties.
• Interface with Sourcing as needed.
• Document all returned items and isolate to a pre-determined area.
• Daily interaction with Customer team (i.e. Supervisor, Production Analyst, Business Leader, and Fulfillment Leader).
• Enter and maintain the inventory record system consistent with Customer standards
• Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Must have the ability to balance multiple tasks/priorities.
• Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observes SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.

Experience:

• High School graduate/ GED or equivalent education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math functions, read and understand written instructions and have legible handwriting.
• Must be computer literate and skilled in the use of software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and the Customer operating systems.
• Responsible for a wide variety of general shipping and receiving duties, material control, and computer-related tasks.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements: 

• Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings
• May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
• Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
• Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings
• Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment
• Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position
• Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools
• Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions
• Safety/Steel toe shoes are required
