Job Title : Driver

Job Summary :

The Driver will be responsible for transporting packages, tools, prefabrication, etc. to and from destinations in a timely manner and assist with other miscellaneous duties.

Duties and responsibilities

Driving and deliveries :

Transport any and all deliveries to and from job sites or other destinations.

Research and plan for traffic, construction, etc., to ensure on time arrival.

Loading and unloading packages and materials into vehicle.

Ensure vehicle is properly loaded, secured, and within weight.

Daily warehousing / loading / driving from Portland office to Oregon and Washington job sites.

Work with Office Admin on miscellaneous duties and dispatches.

Misc. Warehouse duties :

Material handling and staging.

Inventory materials received, deployed, current stock, tools, and equipment.

Qualifications include :

Valid driver's license.

Must have 3 years of commercial driving experience.

Must have a clean driving record.

Must be forklift certified or willing to become forklift certified.

Must wear required all PPE.

CDL preferred.

Must be able to pass a DOT physical.

First aid and CPR training preferred.

Experience driving a large vehicle Min 16’ flatbed truck and a trailer up to 24’.

Alertness and situational awareness.

Advanced knowledge of load securement per state and federal guidelines.

Ability to safely secure loads and equipment within the vehicles at all times.

Ability to safely operate straight mast and industrial style forklifts.

Ability to inspect and prepare materials to be moved.

Ability to work independently and work well with others in a multi-functional environment.

Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and schedule form.

Outstanding communication and customer service skills.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

General mechanical skills.

Working Conditions :

Typical working hours may vary. Generally, Monday – Friday during normal business hours, but when deadlines approach, working extended hours, including additional weekday work, and weekend work, may be required. This position starts and ends their day at the Portland warehouse.

Physical requirements :

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Driver to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The Driver is regularly required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands and arms to handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms. . The Driver is occasionally required to lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter and be physically active for long periods of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the Driver is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic performing daily tasks.
