Job Summary:
The Industrial Operations Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of installed plant equipment and systems. This role involves adhering to State and Federal OSHA safety regulations, following established protocols, and maintaining awareness of company policies and practices.
- Implement lock-out tag-out procedures and confined space entry protocols as necessary.
- Comply with site-specific safety programs and adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with vendors and clients on matters related to plant equipment, repairs, and testing procedures.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for planned maintenance, unplanned maintenance, and repairs.
- Monitor plant SCADA systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Regularly inspect installed equipment for proper operation and calibration.
- Develop knowledge and skills required to operate and maintain installed equipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting, repair, and operation of plant equipment and machinery.
Requirements:
- Detailed understanding of Combined Heat and Power and Central Utility Plants, including startup, operations, and maintenance of all installed equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent comparable technical education, and/or five years of documented work-related experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, thorough understanding of installed machinery and equipment, and ability to recommend and make necessary repairs.
- Able to perform testing utilizing precision instruments.
- Able to interpret system schematic diagrams and troubleshoot systems and equipment utilizing them.
- Able to work effectively in a power plant environment located on a university campus.
