Job Summary: As a Plant Operator, you will ensure all installed plant equipment and systems are operated safely and correctly, meeting the contract between the University of New Hampshire and EMCOR Energy Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with State and Federal OSHA safety regulations.
- Adhere to the site Safety Program.
- Follow direction from Lead Operators.
- Interface with vendors and clients regarding plant equipment, repairs, and test procedures.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for planned maintenance, unplanned maintenance, and repairs.
- Manage Fuel Management System, including testing and reporting.
- Familiarize yourself with New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Title V Operating Permit and ancillary aspects.
- Assist vendor personnel and others with service work.
- Monitor Plant SCADA for safe and efficient operation.
- Check installed equipment for proper operation and calibration.
- Develop knowledge and skills to operate and maintain installed equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and operate plant equipment and machinery.
- Stay updated on company safety and environmental policies and practices.
- Perform additional duties or projects assigned for career development.
Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of Combined Heat and Power and Central Utility Plants.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of documented work experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and thorough understanding of installed machinery and equipment.
- Ability to perform testing with precision instruments and interpret system schematic diagrams.
- Ability to work in a power plant environment located on a university campus.
