Job Overview
We are seeking a quality control professional to perform visual and dimensional inspections, conduct non-destructive testing on heat exchanger components and parts, and compile documentation to meet internal policy and customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect heat lot numbers and verify accuracy during production.
- Conduct in-process dimensional measurements using acceptable devices and standards.
- Apply tags (red, yellow, green) to completed parts and components based on inspection results.
- Perform layout or fit-up inspections as requested.
- Conduct hardness tests and visual inspections before and after post-weld heat treatment.
- Bundled inspections include skeletal assembly, in-process, and final checks before tube loading and insertion into the shell.
- Use prints for dimensional checks of completed parts and/or units.
- Observe hydro testing, verify pressures, and inspect dry-out procedures.
- Review and inspect painting requirements.
- Prepare units for shipment by installing name plates, lettering, or other required items.
- Perform non-code NDE testing according to acceptable procedures and standards.
- Check and re-calibrate tools and equipment as instructed.
- Set up and complete assignments based on shop practices and procedures.
- Perform tasks safely, avoiding all unsafe practices.
- Prepare QC data files with accuracy and timeliness.
- Other duties as assigned.
