We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support our Tinley Park, Illinois location.
Qualified applicant will be assisting in the troubleshooting and subsequent test of Fiber Optic Gyro / Military products and related components, as well as :
- Assist manufacturing in the repair of production equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on various equipment
- Assist in Precision Coil Winding development and production
- Troubleshoot piece part issues in production
- Assist with shelf-life monitoring of production material
- Participate in production line development programs
- Assist with commissioning and validation of various equipment
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Work Site Design. Work with engineering and manufacturing personnel to lead and develop new testing / production workstations which provide for increased productivity, safety, ergonomics, and automation.Work Site Fabrication. Work with vendors, suppliers, and machine shop personnel to acquire equipment, fabricate, debug, train and transfer site to production.New Product Design. Team member in the design of new products for the division. Work with engineering and manufacturing personnel to develop new and improved products to the pre-production level and demonstrate functionality of design and manufacturability of the process.New Product Transfer. Work with engineering and manufacturing personnel to smoothly transfer new products to the factory floor. Develop procedures and checklists for manufacturing personnel to follow. Train manufacturing personnel on new product test procedures.Troubleshooting. Maintain workstations and product throughput by troubleshooting and resolving problems from product components and electronic boards to workstation related issues.Procedures . Develop manufacturing procedures to support all processes under your areas of responsibility.Minimum Qualifications / Requirements :
B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.Five years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with proven record of success in continuous improvement.Must be a hands-on engineer, capable of troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical equipment.Must be able to manage short-term and long-term projects simultaneously with little external support.Must be proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Access.Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.Desired Characteristics :
Able to identify issues in area of responsibility and formulate corrective actions.Works well with all levels of the organization and be a leader in assigned area of responsibility.Be willing to learn new skills.Experience working in AS9100 Quality System a plus.Able to extract, format, and present information from databases to support trend analysis.Able to consolidate information and test results into clear, concise reports.Able to support up to 20 operators and rigs to ensure quality and productivity requirements are met.Qualified applicant will be assisting in the troubleshooting and subsequent test of Fiber Optic Gyro / Military products and related components, will also assist manufacturing
We expect that this position will have a compensation range of $31.00 / hour-$39.00 / hour
