Description
We are seeking a qualified engineering technician or construction engineer to join our growing construction services team. You will have the opportunity to utilize your construction inspection and oversight experience to collaborate on large WisDOT roadway and bridge construction transportation projects in Wisconsin. During the off season, construction team members are trained to assist with transportation and private-sector design and survey projects.

Responsibilities include:
- Construction observation, inspection, and administration of WisDOT projects
- Interprets construction plans and documents, computes quantities and verifies measurements and layouts
- Maintains project documentation and daily reports of construction site activities
- Works collaboratively with all projects stakeholders (client, contractor, sub-consultants) and interact with the public and officials to respond to inquiries and resolve problems
- Assists with the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications
- Position may periodically include short or long term out of town project travel
Requirements
- AS or BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Previous professional or internship experience in the civil engineering field
- Previous DOT roadway/bridge construction inspection experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D; MicroStation/InRoads a plus
- WisDOT Highway Technician Certification Program credentials, or ability to obtain certification (EMCS will provide training if needed)
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
