Position Title: Graphic Designer/Web Administrator
Classification: Temporary, Hourly
Reports to: Executive Director
Compensation: $28-32/hr commensurate with experience.
Summary: Emelin Theatre for the Performing Arts seeks a temporary Graphic Designer and Web Administrator to support our current staff during a period of parental leave for three to four months, through the end of July or into early August. This person will be responsible for the creation of collateral using existing brand guidelines and assets provided by artists to support the rollout and launch of Emelin Theatre’s 25-26 season events.
The Emelin Theatre is a well-known and highly respected non-profit performing arts center in Mamaroneck, New York. Its mission is to provide affordable and accessible performing arts to a diverse audience, promoting a cultural life that educates, invigorates, and entertains. As one of the most significant venues for the performing arts in Westchester County, the Emelin offers an array of high-quality music, dance, film, comedy, and family programming. Importantly, the Emelin is committed to making exposure to the performing arts available to lower income members of its community.
Responsibilities:
- Create and produce graphics for various print and digital collateral.
- Ensure that all designs are visually appealing, following brand guidelines, and communicate the desired message effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
- Work with the current Graphics Designer through transition to parental leave and with Digital Marketing Associate and Emelin team to create graphics for website, events, social, and email campaigns.
- Design and build landing and event pages on our WordPress site.
- Support the Marketing and Development departments with print projects, including obtaining quotes as needed and being the point of contact through print and distribution processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field, preferred.
- Show design experience with a portfolio of work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere).
- WordPress skills, basic HTML, image and text layout.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member in a high energy workplace.
