· Comfortable getting your hands dirty—because animal cages don’t clean themselves, and, well, poop is organic!
· Someone who literally talks to the birds—because pampered animals expect love and attention every day.
· A dedicated caretaker at heart, finding joy in feeding, cleaning, bathing, and tending to animals.
· Available 4-5 mornings a week (including one day on the weekend), making this a great fit for students who love animals.
· Experienced—you’ve worked with animals in a professional setting or are studying to enter the field of animal care.
P.S. Stuff you should know
The Animal Caretaker generally works in a climate-controlled environment. However, animal care in the outdoors is required Tasks require a variety of physical activities, generally not involving muscular strain (up to 50 lbs.), related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, lifting, etc. You must have a car and are willing to travel to and from the markets and veterinary clinics, transporting of creatures is necessary.
