JOB SUMMARY:  H103
Under supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, is responsible for the procurement, storage, issuance and control of automotive equipment, parts and accessories. Incumbents in this job are required to possess specialized skill and detailed knowledge in handling a variety of automotive parts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Writes specifications for supplies by studying catalogs, manuals, vendor consulting and online resources. Conducts and maintains inventory and property control of all items: stock within the garage storeroom, warehouse, fuel site, and assets assigned to garage facilities.

Generates, maintains, and closes work orders to record labor, parts, supplies and services using computer key board and 10-key entry.

Makes personal, telephone, and written inquiries to establish best sources of supplies for automotive replacement parts and assemblies; locates and makes purchases to meet daily maintenance requirements of ECUA's fleet maintenance.

Records, logs, calculates, and orders fuel for ECUA fuel sites.

Maintains a parts catalog system listing essential nomenclature about such parts by manual or data information systems; interviews sales and company representatives regarding availability of parts, prices, and sources of supply; issues and maintains cell phones, phones and accessories.

Uses printed, digital, and online catalogs, technical service bulletins, specifications and wiring diagrams.

Maintains a listing of factory service bulletins affecting changes in parts and assemblies. Generates purchase orders from quotes obtained by storekeeper or purchasing for stock, emergency, and repairs exceeding established purchasing guidelines.

Examines and verifies accuracy of incoming shipments. Checks quality, quantity and condition of parts received. Stores automotive parts and accessories in proper storage areas.

Uses standard business personal computer, allied software programs and the internet to research the availability of and record the receipt, inventory and distribution of materials, equipment and supplies.
 
Drive truck as needed to pick up ordered parts.

Serves as a backup to the courier.

All other duties as assigned. 
 
High school diploma or equivalent.  (Educational documentation will be requested upon offer of employment.)

Two years of experience involving identifying, ordering, and maintaining stock on automotive, truck, or vehicular related equipment parts and assemblies for either a parts warehouse, supply store, automotive, truck or equipment repair center, or dealership.

Possess strong computer skills with inventory management software experience.

Employee is required to be available for call outs after normal working hours including nights, weekends and holidays based on ECUA department needs.

Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a current valid Driver License.
ASC Certification is desirable.
 

Employment offers to all new hires are contingent upon the job candidates successfully passing background and reference checks, drug screening, and post job offer physicals (that may include pulmonary testing). Offers of transfers or promotion to current ECUA employees are not subject to nicotine screening.  All applicants are subject to physical assessments as required by job.

The person in this position must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and is regularly required to work in an office, warehouse, or storeroom setting, drive a motor vehicle for the delivery and pick-up of merchandise, tools, equipment, lift, move, and store equipment, materials, boxes, and other storage items.

Must have finger dexterity, color vision, depth perception and requires the ability  to communicate clearly by telephone.
 
Exposure to unpleasant conditions in warehouse and shop.
 
Work is subject to recurring deadlines, frequent interruptions, and call backs in emergencies.

Knowledge of:
Inventory systems and software. Job specific computer applications (Office, Google Mail, Adobe).

Modern office practices. Record keeping principles. 

Automotive, truck, and vehicular related equipment replacement parts and assemblies; methods of repair, tools and materials.

Parts procurement principles and practices, market conditions, and shipping and billing procedures.

Sources of supply for standard automotive, truck, and equipment parts and assemblies, parts trade names and brands, current prices and pricing practices.

Effective techniques for searching parts catalogs, communicating subtle differences among similar parts, visually identifying correct parts for specific repairs.

Methods of receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining records on automotive, truck, and equipment parts and assemblies.

Skills in:
Evaluating quantity and quality of goods received against prescribed specifications.

Reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence and memos. Writing simple correspondence.

Making mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy. Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Developing storage methods and space.

Applying safety and precautionary measures related to the work.

Preparing a variety of inventory and receiving reports and forms.

Using keyboarding and 10-key data entry efficiently.

Operating a computer to perform required reports, work orders tasks, product research, ordering, receipt, inventory and maintenance. 

Ability to:
Conduct inquiries and locate the best sources of supply for required automotive, truck, and equipment parts and assemblies.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.  Write simple correspondence.

Read, comprehend and communicate technical information related to the ordering and purchasing of automotive, truck, and equipment replacement parts and assemblies.

Check numbers between invoices and bills of lading.

Maintain and process accurate shipment and billing records.

Make calculations using arithmetic in determining such things as percentages and price extensions.  Compute ratios and percentages.

Understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
