Salary: $17.00/hour
General Description:
Admission Gate Cashiers are usually the first Emerald Downs’ employees to interact with our guests. Greeting and directing them with a smile and positive attitude will let them know that they are going to have a memorable racing experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accept cash, debit/credit cards, coupons, tickets, and hard passes from guests as they enter the gate
- carefully document attendance statistics
- Accurate audible count back of change is required
- Hand out promotional materials when needed
- Provide directions and answer questions about the facility
- Reconcile and balance cash at the end of each shift
- Learn computer programs that are used to sell reserved seats and manage our Emerald Rewards program.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Money handling experience, customer service skills, ability to smile and speak with guests while they are proceeding through the gate, punctuality, dependability, trustworthiness, neat appearance, and the ability to follow directions with attention to detail. Some computer knowledge is preferred.

- 18 years or older
Work Environment, Communication & Physical Abilities:
Fast paced work environment with emphasis on customer service. Be prepared for weather conditions and providing excellent customer service for long hours. Communicate with leads, staff, and guests with courtesy and respect. Always be sure to help guests to the best of your ability. Physical abilities are, but not limited to:
- Sitting, standing, smiling, talking, and handling transactions for long periods.
- The ability to lift, squat, bend, and twist your body.
- Able to lift, pull or push 20 lbs. Occasionally.
Tools & Equipment:
Cashiering station, computer, cc machine, money, office supplies, and cleaning supplies.
