The Lead Dietary Aide assists residents select their meal choices and serves food within the resident’s physician prescribed diet. The Lead Dietary aide provides line supervision of the other dietary aides.
Pay: $23-$25.00
11:00 am to 7:30pm - Sunday through Thursday
Primary Responsibilities:

Matching begins the first of the quarter following 1 year of employment. Full-time employees are eligible to accrue up to 16 paid time off days, 6 paid holidays and 3 personal days. Primary Responsibilities:
- Conducts initial orientation and ongoing training for Dietary Aides.
- Provides basic leadership during the work shift.
- Complies with state and federal regulations governing Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living (Boarding Homes).
- Provides gracious and courteous customer service for residents. Greets residents by name with warmth and respect.
- Takes orders and submits to kitchen. Delivers to residents in a timely manner.
- Monitors tables during the meal. Responds to residents’ requests and needs.
- Completes all assigned cleaning and sanitation tasks.
- Keeps the assigned workstation clean and safe.
- Clears dishes from tables during meal service, returns dirty dishes to main kitchen and resets the table for the next resident.
- Obtains food supplies and equipment needed for the next meal.
- Prepares meal trays, food carts, and the dining area for the next meal.
- Delivers food carts.
- Works on the tray-line, initiates tray set-up, and ensures accuracy of the prescribed diets.
- Labels, distributes, collects, and sorts the weekly menus.
- Updates tray cards, profile cards and prints nourishment labels.
- Prepares and provides residents with approved food and snack items.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate preferred.
- Food Handlers’ permit.
- Previous experience working as a dietary aide, cook, or in a food service role preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Capable of collaborating effectively in a team and providing guidance and leadership to the group.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
- Understand hospitality, customer service and table service techniques.
- Ability to interact tactfully with residents, family members, visitors and staff.
- Able to explain the menu, address inquiries, or direct them to the appropriate team member for resolution.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the preparation of therapeutic and texture-modified foods.
- Regular, predictable and dependable attendance.
- Effective English communications skills including verbal and written.
