Emerald Home Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team. The PCA will provide support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities in the comfort of their homes. You will work closely with clients to ensure their well-being, safety, and comfort, delivering personalized care tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
Help with mobility assistance, including transfers and walking.
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
Light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment.
Monitor and record client’s health, noting changes in physical condition and reporting to supervisor or family members as needed.
Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations and activities to enhance the client’s social well-being.
Administer medication reminders and assist with medications as prescribed.
Follow care plans and assist with implementing therapy and exercise regimens as instructed by healthcare professionals.
Offer emotional support to clients and their families, fostering a positive, respectful relationship.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment while adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience as a personal care assistant, home health aide, or in a similar role preferred.
Valid CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow care plans and instructions from supervisors and healthcare professionals.
Compassionate, patient, and dependable with a strong desire to help others.
Ability to lift, move, and transfer clients as needed.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (if travel is required).
