Job Title: Activites Assistant

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Facilitate resident group programs/activities as assigned in a timely and efficient manner. Complete required documentation as assigned. Contribute to resident care planning preparation. Attend and contribute to Recreation Services Department meetings. Provide individual programming as assigned. Maintain recreation department supplies and equipment. Work with volunteers as assigned by Recreation Services Director. Assist with planning and leadership of special events.
- Comply with all Company policies related to safety and infection control procedures including the proper use of mechanical lifts, gait belts and personal protective back supports.
- Understand, comply with and promote all rules regarding resident rights, promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, families, living center team, and regulators.
- Must be willing to work on Saturday.
- Must be willing to work some holidays.
CORPORATE COMPLIANCE
- Duties: Must adhere to the Company’s Code of conduct and Business Ethics policy, including documentation and reporting responsibilities.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
- Duties: Participate in Quality Improvement activities as assigned
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
- Duties: Attend and participate in educational activities, in-service training, and staff meetings; assist in orientation and training other staff.
- OTHER DUTIES: Other duties as assigned or needed.
Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices):
- Walking/mobility, grasping, reaching, bending, pushing and pulling; fine hand coordination; ability to hear and respond to pages; ability to read and write; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to communicate with residents and others; ability to understand and follow training and in- service education; and ability to remain calm in emergency situations and when handling multiple tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Must meet state/federal regulations if applicable.
- Must have ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
- Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other employees.
- Must maintain regular attendance.
- Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required.
- This requirement also includes criminal background investigation, DHHS APS/CPS Report, and reference inquiry.
- You must have a clean APS/CPS Report.
- Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
