We’re looking for a skilled Lead Line Cook to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner to order, ranging from casual to fine dining. This role involves sautéing, broiling, frying, and prepping a variety of entrees, including red meat, fish, shellfish, poultry, and pasta. You'll also train new line staff, assist with scheduling, and ensure high kitchen standards through routine prep and cleaning. As a key part of our culinary team, you’ll contribute to our commitment to exceptional guest service while performing additional duties as assigned by the department manager.
Starting wage is $25.66/hr, increasing to$26.87/hr upon successful completion of 90-day orientation period. This full-time position features excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Culinary training
Experience & Requirements:
- Three years experience in line cooking for a dinner house is required
- Must have experience in grilling, broiling, sautéing, and steaming
- Experience in training of staff (preferred)
- Must be fast and capable of working on as many as 30 orders at a time with the ability to coordinate cooking times with co-workers
- Must have valid Washington State food handler’s card
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours
- The ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis
- Maintain good personal health health standards and work habits
- Must be able to tolerate a casino smoke-filled environment
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays
Must be able to pass a pre-employment illegal drug screen and obtain a Class IIIB license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission.
