PAY RANGE: $45.89 per hour housing & food stipend

Assignment Details

• This position is part of an ESS contract, requiring a 7-day workweek, 12-hour shifts for the entire duration of the assignment.
• No days off or time-off requests will be permitted during the contract period.

Overview

Working under the direction of a Crew Leader, this position performs tasks related to the installation of erosion control materials for housing construction related projects. Employees must be able to perform job duties in an outdoor setting. Tasks will require a variety of physical activities.

Tasks, Duties, Functions

Installation of erosion control materials, (ie. Fiber Rolls, Geo Fabric, Drain Inlet Protection, ESA fencing, etc.) Operation of basic power hand tools. Perform complete site BMP maintenance/ Employees are often required to perform duties and responsibilities in addition to those set forth in the essential functions, including, but not limited to:

• Erosion & sediment BMP installation; straw wattle, ground cover blankets, perimeter & silt fencing drain inlet protection, hydroseeding, and straw blowing.
• Site maintenance, weed abatement, weed-eating, site-mowing (equipment & tractors) brush clearing and ditch cleaning.
• Levee maintenance; tree climbing, chipping, mowing, hand crew work and grading.
• General site cleaning & repair: concrete removal, repair, asphalt repair, meter repairs, demolition and soil export.
• Dewatering of project sites
• Assist in maintaining yard &storage areas for efficient operation of fleet vehicles and equipment and overall cleanliness.
• Adhere to all company Safety policies & procedures.
• Assist with loading & unloading of crew vehicles/trailers and delivery trucks.
• Assist with Yard/Shop improvements and maintenance projects.
• Performs other duties as requested by Supervisor or Foreman
  
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalency preferred
• Valid State of California Driver’s License along with clean Driver’s record, preferred
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic math, reading comprehension and writing skills.
• Experience with construction/erosion control tools,
• Ability to competently, safely and legally operate vehicles, forklifts, tractors, skid steers, and other heavy equipment.
