Overview
As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the affordable housing properties. Your responsibilities will include a wide range of accounting tasks, from bank reconciliations and financial reporting to accounts payable and receivable.
Responsibilities
- Review and audit monthly bank reconciliations
- Record monthly adjusting and accrual entries
- Monitor cash balances and accounts to prevent overdrafts
- Prepare monthly financial statements with supporting documents
- Monitor accounts for errors and make necessary corrections
- Assist in daily, monthly, and annual audits
- Record or audit invoices accurately and timely
- Process final accounting for departing residents/tenants
- Monitor tenant accounts for overages, shortages, and past-due amounts
- Process payables with accurate coding
- Write and send checks consistently
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in accounting or minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- 6 months of Yardi Property Management software experience preferred
- Experience in affordable housing or subsidy accounting highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-directed and detail-oriented
Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00AM - 5:00PM)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
