Environmental Health and Safety / Project Manager
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety Project Manager to join our growing company. The Environmental Health and Safety Project Manager oversees the company's environmental, health, and safety programs, including capital projects. This includes designing and implementing safety protocols, procedures, and regulations for all capital projects. The Environmental Health and Safety Project Manager will also oversee and deliver a portfolio of capital projects, including managing the cost, resources, and timelines of these projects, ensuring they will demonstrate the return on investment on all capital projects. The Environmental Health and Safety Project Manager creates and maintains safety protocols for plant operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implantation of EHS strategies and policies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive programs tailored to the unique needs and risks of the plant environment.
- Develop and deliver EHS training to plant staff, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to work safely and efficiently.
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans for capital projects, including the creation of Gant charts to visualize project timelines, dependencies, and resource allocation.
- Utilize Gant chart for efficient cost management by tracking project expenses, resource utilization, and overall budget allocation.
- Monitor and control project costs through effective budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring that capital projects are delivered within approved financial parameters.
- Assess and manage the capital investment requirements for each project, considering factors such as the cost of capital financing options and potential returns on investment.
- Establish plant safety protocols and guidelines, including emergency response procedures, incident reporting systems, and safety training.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections with the plant to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to the EHS protocol.
- Investigate any plant incident or near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent a recurrence.
- Review and regularly update plant policies and procedures to reflect industry standards or plant or operations changes.
- Continuously monitor and report on plant performance, using the data to inform the ongoing development and refinement of EHS programs.
- Lead the development and management of the plant EHS budget ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support EHS objectives.
- Track and report EHS performance metrics, regularly updating Senior Management.
- Oversee the integration of EHS considerations into the design and execution of capital projects.
- Facilitate risk assessment for capital projects and implement mitigating measures to ensure compliance with the Environment Health and Safety.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure EHS Compliance through the life cycle of the capital projects, from conceptual design to construction and operation.
- This position is 70% Project Management and 30% Safety Facilitating
