JOB TITLE: JustLead Children's Ministry Worker
REPORTS TO: JustLead Children's Ministry Coordinator
STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
Since 1991, Emerald Youth Foundation has worked to support Knoxville’s youth and prepare generations of Godly community leaders. Emerald Youth has engaged more than 30,000 children and young adults in a variety of community programs over nearly three decades. Every year, Emerald Youth serves more than 3,000 children, teens and young adults in the heart of Knoxville through faith, learning and health programs.
JOB SUMMARY:
The JustLead Afterschool/Summer Ministry Worker assists with executing the day-to-day operations of the ministry’s afterschool and summer day camp programs. This position focuses on supporting the ministry’s discipleship activities, while also providing transportation, facilitating program rotations, and participating in relational ministry activities to help support the ministry initiatives and for achieving assigned program goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Communicate, model, and uphold the mission and values of Emerald Youth Foundation.
- Implement afterschool and summer day camp activities for 1st – 8th.
- Participate in weekday and weekend camps, special events, and trips as scheduled.
- Assist with Wednesday night discipleship program during the school year as directed by JustLead Ministry Director.
- Engage in relationship-building activities under the direction of the JustLead Ministry Director, including youth contacts, family contacts, lunch visits, and school personnel contacts.
- Recruit, engage, and support neighborhood youth and families to participate in the ministry.
- Recruit and nurture volunteers.
- Attend scheduled weekly and/or monthly team meetings.
- Transport students to and from activities and programming.
- Ensure safety of students, staff, and volunteers using behavior management and safety procedures. Notify supervisor and director and respond to families as requested, should an emergency situation arise.
- Submit timesheets on time.
- Assist in maintaining updated documentation such as medical information, permission forms, etc. on students.
- Assist with the student tracking, measurement, and evaluation processes as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for the mission of Emerald Youth Foundation; connected to a church community; possesses a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and high moral standards.
- At least 21 years of age with clear driving record with willingness to drive a 15-passenger van
- 1 plus years of experience organizing and implementing youth programs preferred
- Experience in an urban setting ideal
- Ministry degree or working towards ministry related degree preferred
- Excellent Organizational Skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
