Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and be skilled in various veterinary practices. This role involves working closely with veterinarians, RVTs, assistants, and receptionists to provide high-quality medical care for pets, ensuring their health and well-being while also supporting pet owners through education and guidance. We are an after hours emergency facility working to support area day practices while they are closed.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety for both the animal and staff.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals in care, reporting any changes to the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Ensure cleanliness of the clinic by maintaining equipment and work areas.
Experience/Requirements
Candidates should have a background in veterinary medicine or a related field and hold a valid veterinary technician license in the state of Kansas.
