Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Public Relations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing public relations initiatives, including planning and executing grand openings, drafting press releases, drafting blogs, supporting our social media pages, and building relationships with local media outlets. This role requires a proactive professional who can enhance our brand presence across local markets and manage communications that resonate with diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must be able to meet the requirements of a part-time position. (25 hours per week)
- Plan and coordinate grand opening events, ensuring smooth execution and maximum community engagement.
- Draft, distribute, and manage press releases to local and regional media outlets.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media professionals, and community leaders to promote brand awareness.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align PR strategies with marketing and branding objectives.
- Monitor media coverage and analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns.
- Develop and maintain a PR calendar to plan and track events and media outreach activities.
- Represent the company at community events, networking functions, and other promotional opportunities.
- Handle crisis communications and media inquiries as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media professionals, and community leaders to promote brand awareness.

Job Requirements
- Must live in the Colorado Springs area and have the ability to periodically visit the
Colorado Springs office for filming.
- Basic knowledge of filming and video production.
- Prior experience with press releases or related PR work.
- Strong organizational skills to manage PR initiatives, especially for grand openings.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Camera equipment is a plus, but not required.
- Video editing skills preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in Social Media Tools – Experience with platforms such as Facebook,
Instagram, and TikTok.
- Strong Interpersonal & Networking Skills – Ability to build and maintain professional
relationships with media contacts, community leaders, and internal teams.
- Hourly wage based on experience
- Must have basic office equipment for a remote job (internet, computer, printer, etc)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
