QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Three years OR MORE experience in customer service or related area.
- High School diploma required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Effective positive interpersonal and customer relations skills via telephone and face-to-face interaction; practices positive customer relations.
- Ability to manage personnel.
- Ability to utilize resources in an organized manner.
- Ability to follow directions and use good judgment for situations which require initiative and ingenuity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to communicate tactfully and effectively with all staff and patients.
- Filing skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged sitting (over 4 hours).
- Intermittent standing and walking.
- Squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, grasping, feeling, fine motor skills.
- Frequently standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching to check or move equipment and assist patients and staff.
- One-handed and two-handed duties.
- Lift 35 lbs; carry 0-35 lbs; push/pull 0-35 lbs.
- Operate computer extensively.
- Courteously answering of the telephone.
- Speak and hear normal speech, telephone, and sounds.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks daily and reprioritize tasks.
- Accommodate occasional frustration and anger on part of patients and families.
- Environmental exposure to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, chemicals, cold, heat, and sometimes infectious diseases.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Registration Activities:
- Greet patients as they arrive and promptly notify on-duty Nurse or CT Tech.
- Enter accurate demographic information into the computer.
- Audit the work of the other front desk associates
- Create and manage the front desk work schedule
- Answer phones, take messages and distribute calls as appropriate.
- Scan and store documents into computerized medical record system, including insurance card and driver license.
- Ensure adequate amount of forms used by Facility are available.
- Assist in completing forms when necessary.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for each patient.
