Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Emergency Hospital Systems. As a Clinical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, patient registration procedures, and medical record processing.
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the clinical team to provide services as directed by physicians and/or nurse managers.
- Generate data from various laboratory techniques and instrumentation, including Hematology and Chemistry.
- Participate in experiments designed to evaluate new methodology by running batch samples against library of known substances, controls, and calibrators.
- Maintain industry and government standards regarding technique and safe handling of biohazardous materials/specimens.
- Calibrate analytical instrumentation and tabulate/graph data.
- Prepare technical reports for Lead Lab Tech/Lab Manager.
- Access data acquisition software and enter data in multiple systems or off-site locations, such as proficiency testing institutes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; one to two years related experience and/or training preferred.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
- Seeks feedback to enhance own performance.
- Completes annual educational requirements.
Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's, and perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Computer Skills
- Basic computer skills, including access to data acquisition software and entry of data in multiple systems or off-site locations.
Certificates/Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
