Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized in-house Payroll Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of payroll management, tax regulations, and accounting principles. The ability to self-teach and be flexible with taking on other office tasks.
Duties
- Process payroll for all contractors accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain payroll records by updating employee information, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure that payroll accounts are accurate and balanced.
- Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Analyze payroll data for discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to manage employee benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Utilize accounting software to streamline payroll processes and maintain general ledger accounting practices.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings related to payroll, including quarterly and annual reports.
- Assisting with other office tasks as necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience in payroll management or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations, debits/credits, and accounting principles is essential.
- Proficiency in accounting software and data entry skills is required.
- Familiarity with account reconciliation processes is a plus.
- Experience working with human resources functions related to payroll is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary for success in this role.
