Position Summary
The Department of Health & Wellness Design within the School of Public Health at Indiana University – Bloomington is inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellow position.
The Jordan Lab invites applications for a postdoctoral position to join our team of dynamic researchers. The focus of this postdoctoral position will be on the role of the neural exposome, specifically environmental stress, in healthy aging and neurological disorders. Our research utilizes mobile and wearable technology to better understand stress as it is experienced in free living conditions. Our lab has developed several mobile apps focused on measuring stress as it happens in real time through ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and intervening on stress as it occurs through just in time adaptive interventions (JITAI). In our research, we utilize a variety of wearable devices including smartwatches, smart rings, and fitness trackers to measure additional variables of interest such as heart rate, heart rate variability, physical activity, and sleep. Our research is funded by multiple institutes at the National Institute of Health (NIH) including the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) as well as the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute.

Dr. Jordan is an Associate Professor and Interim Department Chair in the Department of Health and Wellness Design in the Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington. He has an adjunct appointment in the Indiana University Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, is an Affiliate Scientist in the Regenstrief Institute Center for Health Services Research and is an Affiliate Faculty in the Indiana University Center for Global Health.

Basic Qualifications
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in a health-related field with experience in one or more of the following areas is required: stress, aging, and mobile/wearable technology.

Additional Qualifications
Responsibilities:
This postdoctoral fellow will receive training in mixed methods approaches, human-centered design of digital health interventions, stakeholder-engaged research, grant writing and management, and other critical skills as identified in their individual development plan. The fellow will receive the mentoring and time needed to advance their program of research toward becoming an independent scholar. Essential duties include:
- Prepare individual development plan and form a mentorship team based on goals and interests
- Lead research on focused on environmental stress and aging
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses
- Produce peer-reviewed products (e.g., manuscripts, conference presentations, grants)
