Position Summary
The Merchandising faculty at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a full-time Visiting Lecturer position beginning August 1, 2025. We welcome individuals whose perspectives, professional experiences, and/or educational backgrounds advance the understanding of merchandising as a human-centered discipline connecting concepts to consumers. The Merchandising program consists of ten full-time scholars and practitioners whose diverse backgrounds enrich our academic community. Our students and faculty benefit from this range of experience, including the valuable insights brought by individuals who have transitioned from industry to academia. The Merchandising program is widely recognized for pedagogical excellence, with faculty members receiving university-level teaching awards.
The Merchandising program is situated within the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture Design and the College of Arts & Sciences. This location contextualizes our approach to merchandising with a rich liberal arts background and a deep, cross-disciplinary exploration of creative and analytical approaches. The Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture Design (Eskenazi School) (https://eskenazi.indiana.edu/) is composed of diverse scholars and practitioners at the forefront of integrative design thinking and practice. The Eskenazi School houses six undergraduate degree programs in art, design, and merchandising, as well as graduate degree programs in art, architecture, and merchandising. This is where art, merchandising, architecture, and design merge to shape the future of creativity from imagination to implementation.
