As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will respond to emergency situations, assess and treat patients using advanced medical equipment and transport patients to medical facilities. Applicants are encouraged to be 21 years or older. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to relocate within the state of Connecticut. We are seeking qualified applicants who are comfortable working in an unsupervised environment and can make quick decisions when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls as directed by dispatcher.
- Load and unload patients safely into and out of emergency vehicle.
- Manage patient flow in and out of the emergency vehicle.
- Communicate with medical staff, firefighters, and other EMTs to determine appropriate patient care in an emergency situation.
- Load and unload medical equipment into and out of the emergency vehicle.
- Administer basic life support to patients as directed by medical staff.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, professional standards, and ethical conduct.
- Learn new procedures in order to provide effective care for patients.
