Medical Biller/Coder – outpatient clinic in Boise, ID
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience. Benefits will be included for positions greater than 30 hours per week.

We are seeking an experienced and versatile team player to fill the role of Medical Coder/Biller, to join our billing team and support our growing team of multispecialty providers. ERHC team members must be able to learn quickly, adapt to change, and maintain a high level of flexibility while ensuring a quality healthcare experience for our patients. The ideal candidate will be able to function well in a dynamic and highly-patient centered environment and will be responsible for:
- Reviewing E&M and CPT codes to assure accuracy.
- Assigning appropriate codes (ICD, CPT, HCPCS) for diagnoses, treatments, and services rendered in eClinicalWorks.
- Sending claims, performing follow-up work, and working denials from third-party insurance companies.
- Working outstanding AR accounts to ensure reimbursements are collected in a timely manner.
- Maintaining a strong knowledge of major insurance carrier regulations, procedures, and benefit plans.
- providing first class customer service to ERHC patients.
- Working directly with ERHC providers to assist with chart review and coding optimization.
- Assist in updating charge master fee schedule and researching insurance allowables for various E&M and CPT codes (insurance companies and Idaho Industrial Commission).
Required Skills:
1. Certified Professional Coder (Preferred). Certified Professional Biller (Preferred).
2. Minimum 2 years medical office experience (and optimally 3-5 years) in a medical coding/billing role, ideally billing for outpatient clinic services. Strong understanding of diagnosis (ICD) and procedure (CPT) coding systems.
3. Appropriately bill to commercial insurance, workers compensation insurance, and first responder departments.
4. Ability to communicate, answer questions, and resolve concerns with insurance carriers.
5. Understanding of revenue cycle receivables from both patients and insurance carriers.
6. Understanding of insurance claim adjustments, and knowledge of medical billing/coding.
7. Troubleshoot and correct insurance denials and/or billing errors.
8. Timely resolutions of all claims including appeals.
9. Assist in resolving patient billing discrepancies and collections. Sending patient statements and collect past due payments.
10. Consult with medical providers to clarify missing or inadequate claim information. Provide thorough, timely, and accurate review of billing codes.
11. Act as a knowledge resource to clinical staff for billing and coding issues.
12. Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Excellent customer service skills.
13. Ability to focus and multi-task in a busy environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
14. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to the Privacy Practices for Protected Health Information.
15. Demonstrate proficiency in clinic-based EMR applications. Knowledge of eClinicalWorks is a plus.
