General Position Overview
This position is responsible for following ISO work instructions to produce quality products in a timely manner. The principal focus will be:
Conduct visual quality inspections including 1st piece
Meet specified labor standards.
Able to work as team without disruptions.
Able to interact with all types of people in a professional and respectful manner.
Able to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Essential Job Functions
Demonstrates SoundOff Signal’s Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
Competent in the function of:
Hand soldering, touch-up, complex repairs and testing of all electronic printed circuit boards.
In-depth understanding of electronic component identification (I.D. by type, polarity and value)
Able to utilize engineering drawings.
Fine pitch surface mount rework.
Defining and resolving problems, collecting data, and establishing facts to draw valid conclusions.
Repairing and replacing defective components to ensure the product meets company conformity standards.
This position will:
Inspect board assemblies.
Determine issues and potential problems with components.
Able to operate and maintain hand tools/soldering iron.
Able to read and follow SoundOff Signal Work Instructions.
Ability to rotate in all SMT operations.
Able to listen and apply direction from Department Lead.
Perform other complex tasks as assigned.
High individual level of quality, with proven contributions to the overall department quality.
Proficient in operating department's mechanical equipment as assigned.
Have a thorough understanding of all SoundOff Signal’s policies, procedures, and systems.
Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Light manufacturing environment
Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting
Required to work shift hours of 3:00pm-1:00am, Monday-Thursday with occasional overtime
Requirements
High school diploma. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum two years experience with the skills required for the position.
Familiar with fields concepts, practices and procedures.
Willing and able to train others in all department processes.
Proficient PC and Windows operating system user. Knowledge of meters and other test devices.
Solder and de-solder fine pitch components and repair electronic circuits.
Perform complex inspection of electronic circuit boards for errors with the ability to perform complex repairs, testing and completing the process.
Detail oriented.
Ability to work well as a team with a wide variety of people/positions.
Excellent hand and eye coordination
Strong attention to detail; ability to work with precision.
Physical Requirements
Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
Must be able to accurately handle and assemble small parts.
Salary Description
$21-$24.75/hr + $2/hr shift premium
