What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool and Die Maker - Plastic Injection Molds position at Emergent Enterprises?
We are a small, very specialized Injection Mold Die Fabrication shop, looking for a Lead Tool & Die Maker to help grow our business.
We currently we are having to turn away business as we simply don’t have the workforce that we need for much additional work. We are seeking several Tool & Die Makers, starting with a lead person to help with work project coordination.
As a lead, you will help oversee current work as well as take on projects yourself to complete.
We primarily have manual mills and EDM machines; however, we also have CNC machines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in the design, fabrication, and maintenance/repair of precision tools and dies (ideally Injection Molding Dies).
Our customers trust us completely to provide them with the highest quality Injection Molding Dies that they need for their production lines. Duties
- Design and fabricate precision tools, dies, and fixtures per print specifications.
- Utilize CAD software – Ideally Unigraphics - for tool design.
- Perform CAM programming to create machine code for CNC machines.
- Assemble and dimensionally inspect dies to ensure they meet the required specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify dimensions.
- Troubleshoot and repair existing molds brought in for maintenance.
- Collaborate with our design engineer to improve tool designs for efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience (ideally) as an Injection Mold Tool Die Maker.
- Ideal Proficiency in SolidWorks, Unigraphics and CAM programming, is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.

Pay is totally based on experience: $26/hr. - $35/hr.
Work hours are flexible with most of our workforce preferring a early start to the day of around 6:00 a.m. and working till mid-afternoon. If that’s not to your liking, you can set your own hours as you will have your own projects to manage.
