Emergent Risk International (ERI) is seeking to hire a full-time Risk Intelligence Analyst to be embedded with a major US-based multinational food company. This position works exclusively with the client on threat and risk-related assessments of people, assets, operations and reputation.

This is a hybrid role that will primarily involve remote work but that requires occasional visits to a client office for in-person meetings and occasional collaboration with client team members. The candidate can be based within a commutable distance to Battle Creek, MI.

This role will also require occasional travel to visit client sites for stakeholder outreach and familiarization, up to but not likely to exceed 15% of the year.

About US: ERI is a global risk and security intelligence advisory firm headquartered in Newport, Rhode Island with offices in Austin, Washington DC, Greater Boston, the United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Mexico, Portugal, and Singapore. We support global security, risk management, business continuity and other risk-focused departments of Fortune 500 companies and multinational organizations. We help our clients assess risk to their organizations; whether that risk emanates from geopolitics, security threats, economic forces or regulatory initiatives that may impact bottom-line revenue or threaten personnel and company assets.

ERI operates five lines of business:

  • Assessment and Analysis: We provide our clients daily, subscription-based and bespoke geopolitical and threat intelligence services.
  • Training:  We train intelligence analysts to serve effectively in corporate environments. Our training focuses on tradecraft and tools that drive more efficient and effective analysis. We offer a range of in-house and open training courses to address specific levels of experience and need.
  • Online Platform:  We offer a subscription-based online portal that provides a workspace environment for security intelligence analysts, combining ERI’s expert analysis with hundreds of curated datasets and our suite of data visualization tools.
  • Consulting:  We help companies develop and improve their intelligence programs, providing end-to-end support; from assessing needs and providing analysis to recruiting and hiring highly qualified candidates.
  • Embedded Analyst Services: We support our clients with embedded analysts, full- and part-time, short- and long-term. Our embedded analysts work directly for our clients, allowing them the benefit of employing intelligence professionals trained to ERI’s strict standards of competency and continually professionally developed by ERI’s senior leadership, armed with access to ERI’s proprietary tools and deep backbench of in-house subject matter experts.

The Position: The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in intelligence and geopolitical risk analysis in the private sector and very strong communication, research and English-language writing skills. This mid-career Risk Intelligence Analyst will work directly with the client company to support day-to-day security operations and threat monitoring. Candidate must be a self-starter capable of taking initiative and working with a high level of autonomy and independence.

The analyst will respond to quick turnaround taskings but also take initiative to monitor and alert the security group to a range of threats and issues that could impact the business. The ideal candidate will also have a solid grasp of business – especially as it relates to fast moving consumer goods and supply chains.

Primary responsibilities:

· Research and write short and long form intelligence products to assess and mitigate security, economic, geopolitical and regulatory risks to the client’s assets, operations, workforce, brand and reputation.

· Proactively identify business-relevant strategic intelligence topics to propose to management.

· Self-edit and provide quality control for all products and deliverables.

· Work alongside client’s corporate security and risk intelligence staff including briefing senior executives and stakeholders on key analytical products and findings.

· Consistently meet all reporting and other assigned deadlines.

· Develop a deep understanding of client’s operations, supply chain, services and assets around the globe and track potential impactful global issues.

· Continuously evaluate the utility of existing program tools and identify potential new tools to strengthen work and fill intelligence gaps.

· Develop and implement SOPs, style guides, tooling and workflows to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of deliverables.

· Develop a knowledge and proficient capability to utilize ERI’s Emergent RiskIQ™ platform for information monitoring, dashboarding, and creating live reports and data visualizations for the client company.

· Actively participate in ERI trainings and workshops to deepen your analytic expertise and business knowledge on a regular basis.

· Other administrative and programmatic tasks as required.
