Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following : Triages incoming telephone calls according to established policies and procedures Experience with assessing post-operative care Prioritizes patient need based on collected information obtained through patient interview Ensures documentation in medical record accurately reflects communication and patient's plan of care Telephones prescription requests to pharmacy per physician order; documents action in patient medical record Performs patient education when appropriate including oral and written education related to diagnosis, procedures, and / or medications Reviewing patient charts and applying critical thinking skills Other Follows all applicable department and practice policies and procedures Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practice Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions Participates in committee meetings to facilitate system changes Attends all regular meetings Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager or physicians Maintains compliance with continuing educational requirements to maintain current certifications, licensure, etc…
