Educational Requirements : High school degree or equivalent required CMA Certification, or other equivalent education, certification, licensure, or related degree preferred Medical training and / or experience in casting or splinting preferred Qualifications and Experience : Knowledge of lab / diagnostic tests and handling paperwork Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications Knowledge of practice management and word processing software Working knowledge of managed care basics Current CPR Certification Excellent communication skills Excellent documentation skills Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following : Controls patient flow for physician.
Greets patient and escorts them from the waiting room to exam rooms, x-ray waiting, or cast room Monitoring of physician schedules as appropriate to ensure adequate patient flow and preparation for clinic Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies for physician assessment Prepares injections as ordered by the physician Assists physicians in preparing for examinations and minor procedures Prepare patient for examination, including appropriate clothing, positioning, and supplies necessary to complete patient exam Obtain and document patient medical history including reason for visit, and any other pertinent information related to treatment prior to physician exam.
All pending results are obtained prior to patients next clinic visit Ensures all documentation accurately reflects the patient encounter and plan of care
