What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Support Specialist - Physical Therapy position at EMERGEORTHO, P.A.?
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following : Responsible for day to day reception services functions to include, but not limited to : greeting patients; answering phones; patient check-in, registration and check-out; insurance verification; appointment scheduling; prepare and review charts for appointments; and processing orders Instructs / directs patients in a timely manner according to established policies and protocols related to care Keeps an open line of professional communication with assigned staff and providers regarding patient needs Maintains a pleasant and cooperative demeanor while performing all duties Other Follows all applicable department and practice policies and procedures Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines established by the practice Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions Participates in committee meetings to facilitate system changes Attends all regular meetings Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager or physicians Maintains compliance with continuing educational requirements to maintain current certifications, licensure, etc… Typical Physical Demands Position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, as well as manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Position Involves sitting, standing and walking.
Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Normal visual acuity and hearing are required.
Employee will work under stressful conditions, and work irregular hours.
