The primary function of the Human Resources Manager is to develop, implement, and administer the policies relating to all aspects of personnel administration. Responsibilities include personnel recruitment, salary administration, employee benefits administration, compliance with all mandated labor laws, and employee relations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Professional in Human Resources Certification preferred
- Minimum of three years experience in human resources, preferably in a health care setting
- Knowledge of state and federal employment/labor laws, and practice policies.
- Knowledge of compensation and benefits administration
- Knowledge of recruitment, interviewing, reference and background checking, and other selection methods
- Knowledge of how to conduct wage/salary surveys; mediate personnel grievances/disputes; analyze human resources data for critical indicators
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and demands
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain composure when confronted with stressful situations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and providers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following
- Coordinate activities in personnel recruitment including advertisements, assisting managers with interviews, and appropriate background research
- Maintain position opening/filled statistics for administrative purposes
- Interact with departmental managers to ensure departmental plans, goals, policies/procedures, budget, and evaluations of departmental staff
- Coordinate new hire processing including completion of pertinent employment forms, benefits forms, etc.
- Serve as liaison to all personnel, and mediate employee relations issues
- Coordinate termination process, including completion of pertinent personnel forms, insurance forms such as COBRA notices, conducting exit interviews, collecting company-owned property, etc.
- Maintain/monitor records of worker’s compensation, EEO, ADA, FMLA, unemployment, and other employee claims. Recommend changes to policies and training processes to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Interact with departmental managers to ensure compliance with employment/practice regulations and policies
- Recommend and facilitate employee recognition efforts and events
- Responsible for compliance and enforcement of all pertinent labor laws and Human Resource policies
- Facilitate promotion/transfer functions related to salaries
- Participate in compensation/benefits research to ensure competitiveness with market rates and new benefit offerings
- Participate in the annual open enrollment benefit period and process benefits documents
- Assist with retirement processes and records/reports.
- Assist Senior Administration, Physicians, and Managers as appropriate
- Pursue continuous development of Human Resource skills
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
