With offices across North Carolina, the Physical / Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients based on findings, completing documentation in a timely manner, communicating with physicians and other members of the medical team, and supervising therapist assistants and aides in direct patient care and related activities. Hours : Monday - Friday 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm
Qualifications and Experience
Graduate of an accredited PT / OT School
State of North Carolina Therapy License Required
Current CPR Certification
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and demands
Comfortable using email, internet applications, and practice management software
Strong customer orientation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following
Patient Care
Conducts evaluations including reviewing patients’ medical histories, testing and measuring strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration, and motor function
Prepares treatment plans describing a strategy, purpose, goals, and anticipated outcome
Administers manual techniques and applies modalities / physical agents
Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit conferring with physician and other practitioners when appropriate
Teaches patients to use assistive and adaptive devices. Instruct patients on at-home exercises
Records evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress notes, discharge, summaries, and charges timely, legibly, and in compliance with applicable requirements
Assist with business and administrative facets of the practice as deemed necessary by the manager including marketing activities
Maintains confidentiality of patient information
Discharges patients from therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provides or facilitates appropriate follow-up care
Supervises Clinic Personnel
Adequately supervises therapist assistants and / or aides in direct patient care and related activities. Has a positive influence on others
Assists in training and orientation of new staff
Communication

Demonstrates willingness and ability to go the “extra mile” in meeting patient needs. Represents the clinic professionally
Identifies and responds appropriately to patient needs utilizing available resources. Keeps composure under stress. Is approachable and compassionate
Time Management
Effectively prioritizes tasks based on clinic demands to complete assignments within designated timeframes with little to no supervision
Productivity
Overall productivity in terms of visits / day and procedures / visit is at the level of peers
Number of new patients seen is at the level of peers
Time and Attendance
Is punctual for shift. If applicable, obtains authorization for overtime from a supervisor
Observes policies regarding schedule changes, breaks / meals, time off, and calling in sick
Safety
Demonstrates behavior that protects the safety of self / others and of the clinic and equipment
Demonstrates environmental awareness by maintaining work areas in clean and unobstructed order
Follows policy when accidents occur
Other Responsibilities
May conduct training programs or participate in training medical and nursing students and other workers in physical therapy techniques and objectives
Develop and participate in health promotion programs, group activities, or discussions to promote client health, facilitate social adjustment, alleviate stress, and prevent physical or mental disability
Conduct research in physical therapy
Advise on health risks in the workplace and home and on health-related transition to retirement
Provide training and supervision in therapy techniques and objectives for students and nurses and other medical staff
Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the Director of Therapy
Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
