Job Title: Senior Jira Consultant
Location: Pflugerville TX 5 days Onsite
Contract: Long Term
Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Jira Consultant to enhance and optimize our Jira practices, covering setup, automation, training, and overall usage. This role requires a deep understanding of Jira administration, customization, workflow automation, reporting, and integrations to improve efficiency and best practices across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Jira Setup & Configuration:
- Optimize Jira projects, workflows, schemes, and permissions.
- Implement best practices for structuring Jira instances.
- Manage Jira Service Management (JSM) setup if applicable.
- Automation & Integration:
- Develop and configure Jira Automation Rules.
- Implement Jira scripting (e.g., using ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira, or REST APIs).
- Integrate Jira with Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools.
- Set up CI/CD pipelines with Jira where necessary.
- Training & Best Practices:
- Conduct training sessions for Jira users (developers, testers, project managers, executives).
- Define governance policies for Jira usage and standardization.
- Document Jira best practices, processes, and guidelines.
- Reporting & Dashboards:
- Create and optimize Jira dashboards, reports, and filters for different user roles.
- Provide insights using Jira Query Language (JQL) and custom reports.
- Jira Administration & Support:
- Troubleshoot Jira-related issues and ensure system stability.
- Manage Jira upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.
- Maintain Atlassian licensing and compliance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 years of hands-on experience with Jira administration, configuration, and automation.
- Expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence.
- Strong knowledge of JQL, ScriptRunner, REST APIs, and Jira Automation Rules.
- Experience with integrations (Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and ITSM practices.
- Hands-on experience with Jira migrations, custom plugins, and performance optimization.
- Strong communication and training skills to guide technical and non-technical users.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Atlassian certifications (ACP-100, ACP-600, or related).
- Experience with Jira Cloud and Data Center versions.
- Scripting experience (Groovy, Python, or Java).
- Knowledge of Atlassian marketplace plugins for Jira customization.
- Scrum Master cert is a plus
